Candidate for Clerk of the Circuit Court

Morgan County, West Virginia

____________________

1. Full-Time Circuit Clerk -- In order for the Circuit Clerk to meet taxpayers’ needs, she must be present in the office every hour it is open. By arriving at the office at the start of every day, I will show the citizens of this county the importance and value of hard work. Morgan County deserves a candidate who will work hard and remain committed to the position- it deserves a full- time Circuit Clerk.

2.Fair and Impartial Jury Selection-- When you are selected as a juror in this county you deserve to be treated with respect. After all, you are giving up your time to serve your community. I believe that makes your time more important than mine. Thus, when circumstances require a change in the jury schedule, every effort will be made to get you the right information as soon as possible. I will make jurors a top priority.

3. Look for Ways to Reduce Budget-- I will look for new ways to save money. As a taxpayer, I appreciate the importance of saving the county money and will work hard to find new ways to successfully reduce the Circuit Clerk’s budget. Raising and educating five children has provided me with the skills to make things work within a budget. There is no reason our government cannot effectively do the same thing.

4. Bring Enthusiasm and Hard Work to the Circuit Clerk’s Office-- I believe the basic principles of business are met with enthusiasm and hard work. I will bring both of these qualities to the position of Circuit Clerk. I take pride in the fact that I am a dependable employee who misses very few days of work, and I do not expect to change my work ethic simply because I win an election.

5. Personalize Relationship with Citizens --Because the taxpayers pay the Circuit Clerk’s salary, communication with them is extremely important. If I have to leave the office on business, I will always be in touch. If a citizen leaves a message, I will personally return his or her phone call. Your concerns are my concerns-- even if they do not directly affect my office. I believe county government is here to serve the taxpayers’ needs, and I will make sure I find the answers to your questions.

6. Follow All Guidelines Set by the State -- The Circuit Clerk carries a great deal of responsibility and must follow the official decrees set forth by the Supreme Court of Appeals. I will work with other Circuit Clerks and the Supreme Court to make sure all laws are followed There will also be no problems handling jury selection and management, maintaining court records and working directly with the Circuit Judges. I am committed to this position and will work hard every day to fulfill my duties as Circuit Clerk of Morgan County.
